White Vinyl Cupolas come standard to fit up to a 12/12 roof pitch. If you have a roof pitch that is steeper than 12/12 you will need to purchase an extension base. It is important to order the extension base at the same time that you purchase your cupola. See related products for the extention base that is right for your cupola, or give us a call for ordering help. Cupolas ship via Motor Freight.
Follow the guidelines below when purchasing extension bases:
- Up to and including 12/12 pitch no extension base is required.
- For a 14/12 pitch 1 extensiopn base is required.
- For a 16/12 roof pitch 2 extension bases are required.
*NOTE: when using a weathervane along with a cupola and extension bases are used, and extention rod, and sometimes two extension rods are needed.

Use the sizing chart and recommendations below to determine the appropriate size of cupola for your home, barn, shed or gazebo.
A continuous roof line of about 24' looks best with a cupola around 36" Sq. You may not be able to get an exactly 36" square cupola depending on the style you are ordering, but there is usually a cupola that is just a bit larger or a bit smaller. For longer roof lines, you might consider using two cupolas as shown below and or using a larger cupola.
Do you need an extention base for your cupola? Using the chart below and a carpentry square you can determine your roof's pitch. Steeper roof pitches will require an extention base for your cupola so that the base will be long enough to meet the steeper roof planes on each side of the cupola. GOOD DIRECTIONS LIMITED WARRANTY
Good Directions, Inc. warrants this product to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of original purchase. If the product exhibits such a defect, Good Directions, Inc. will, at its option, free of charge, repair or replace it, provided the Purchaser:
1. Return the product, post paid and insured, to Good Directions, Inc., 20 Commerce Drive, Danbury, CT 06810.
2. Submit proof of the date of the original purchase.
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from acts of God, reasonable wear and tear, installation, accident, misuse, tampering, unreasonable use, servicing performed or attempted by unauthorized service agencies or products that have been modified or altered.
ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO 5 YEARS FROM THE DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE. IN NO EVENT WILL GOOD DIRECTIONS, INC. BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM USE OF THIS PRODUCT.
